Stephen Smith brings more than 18 years of experience in behavioral healthcare in both rural and urban settings. He has progressed from providing direct care to providing program and facility management for mental health and substance abuse clients. He has an extensive amount of experience managing community mental health centers and an established history of building and expanding residential and outpatient treatment programs. Smith additionally has presented nationally on the topics of behavioral healthcare for young adults, implementing sustainable programs, and enhancing workplace culture.

Stephen received his bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Western Illinois University and holds a master’s degree in Community Counseling from National-Louis University. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. Smith most recently served as the Administrator of Child and Adolescent Services for Rosecrance in Rockford, overseeing residential and outpatient services for youth in the areas of mental health, substance abuse, and other life specific issues.
